namibia & Botswana

Custom tours only at this time. Namibia & Botswana present one of the great combined birding and wildlife experiences anywhere in the world. Despite the stark environment, creatures are abundant, including a broad diversity of birds found nowhere else and incredible mammal viewing.

The hotels and food are wonderful and the scenery is magnificent throughout.

Madagascar: The Island Continent

Custom tours only at this time. Madagascar is home to some of the most incredible birds and wildlife on the planet—six entire families of birds are found nowhere else in the world (and we should see all six!). We could see about 95% of the endemic birds on the full trip, along with 20+ species of lemurs and many chameleons, geckos, and other wacky animals.

south africa: Mega endemics and megafauna

Next set departure: October 2025 (Sold out!) There's a reason that South Africa is the continent's top tourist destination. Not only does it have incredible birding featuring a load of endemics along with outstanding mammal viewing in its well-run park system, it has world-class tourist infrastructure.

The accommodations, food, and roads make traveling a breeze while we enjoy hornbills, bee-eaters, turacos, elephants, cats, and antelope.

I notice that we've posted photos of a lot of brown birds recently, so here's a bird with a nice splash of color. It's one of the best birds of the US's desert southwest, with one of the best bird names out there, Pyrrhuloxia. Want to see one with us
