DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: ENDEMIC JEWELS OF HISPANIOLA
We are heading back to the West Indies! The Dominican Republic is a must-stop on the Caribbean birding circuit, with the possibility of encountering 30 endemic species. We will be visiting all the crucial habitats to see the endemics on the island, some of which are now scarce and endangered.
JAMAICA: ISLAND ENDEMICS & CARIBBEAN SPECIALTIES

Red Hill Birding - Island style! With 28 endemic bird species and many more endemic subspecies, Jamaica is an important destination in the Caribbean for endemics and all-around great Caribbean birding. We are only staying at two locations on this easy tour of the northeastern portion of the island.
MEXICO: Veracruz RIVER OF RAPTORS
Custom tours only at this time. Each year, millions of migrating birds use a narrow corridor along the coastal state of Veracruz to migrate south, including nearly the entire global population of Broad-winged Hawks, Swainson’s Hawks, Mississippi Kites, and Turkey Vultures. Anhingas, Wood Storks, Scissor-tailed Flycatchers, and many others also use this incredible migration corridor.
If migration wasn’t enough, we will also visit surrounding habitats for a nice suite of Mexican endemics and tropical species, including Red Warbler and Strickland’s Woodpecker.
MEXICO: WEST MEXICAN ENDEMICS

Mexico is well-known for its spectacular endemic birds, and incredible diversity of habitats. In western Mexico, this maxim rings especially true. Outlined by the biologically rich Sierra Madre Occidental to the east, and the rugged Pacific coast to the west, this short tour takes us through coastlines, mangrove lagoons, dry forest, subtropical forest, pine-oak highlands, and more.
Mexico: Oaxaca Valley to the coast

Located in the endemic-laden Southwest of the country, Oaxaca is Mexico’s birdiest state. With a large diversity of habitats, and highlands that straddle the divide between the Pacific and Atlantic slopes, Oaxaca boasts a list of nearly 700 species.
Oaxaca is a historic region, with a unique culture, delicious cuisine, and incredible pre-Columbian ruins, making for a wonderful all-around travel experience.
Mexico: The Yucatán Peninsula
Next set departure: April 2026 The Yucatán Peninsula is a well-known area for tourism in the states. Miles of beachfront, easy flights, Mayan ruins and Cozumel Island are all big attractions. For the nature-lover and birder, the Yucatán is equally famous. The region’s forests, scrub, and beaches are home to over 15 endemic species, from the conspicuous Yucatan Jay to the retiring Yucatan Nightjar.

Costa Rica is one of the most popular tropical countries for ecotourism, and for good reason. With incredible birding and abundant wildlife, along with fantastic ecolodges and delicious food, it's the sort of place where a birder can return to time and again and continue to see new things and have new experiences.
PANAMA: CANOPY LODGE & TOWER

This tour takes in two of the best-known and most easily accessed lodges in the neotropics—Canopy Tower in the central lowlands of Soberanía National Park and Canopy Lodge in the foothills of El Valle de Antón.
With over 300 species of bird possible, including 6 trogon species and 20+ species of hummingbirds, it is safe to say that Red Hill Birding is excited to return to Panama. This tour can be combined with our trip to the Canopy Camp.
Panama: Canopy Camp and the darién

The fabulous Canopy Camp will serve as our base to explore the riches of Panama’s far eastern Darién Province. Famous among birders for specialties like Black Oropendola, Dusky-backed Jacamar, and Gray-cheeked Nunlet, our trip to explore the wilds of the Darién will delight of birders of all experience levels.
In recent years, this region has become the most reliable location to find Harpy Eagle in the neotropics. We will devote a full day to searching for Panama’s national bird. This tour can be combined with our trip to the Canopy Lodge and Tower.
TRINIDAD & TOBAGO: WHERE THE NEOTROPICS MEET THE CARIBBEAN

There is no better introduction to the neotropics than the islands of Trinidad & Tobago! Located only seven miles off the coast of Venezuela, most neotropical families are represented on Trinidad, but without the overwhelming numbers. Trinidad brings a more Caribbean flavor with a relaxing stay along the coast.
